Being almost Father's Day and thinking about my Dad - I watched a great documentary last night on Netflix - Iwo Jima: 50 Years of Memories - it had actual film footage and interviews from the Marines who were there reliving their horrific experiences from the front line. Since my father was a WWII Marine who fought on the beaches of Iwo Jima and in the Pacific Theater - I always find this history interesting as well as emotional and sad. When my dad was alive, I remember asking him to tell me about the war - of course being younger, I didn't realize the impact it had on him - and I imagine I never will. Couldn't ever imagine. Who could unless you were there? He wouldn't talk to me about it. He just got tears in his eyes. I will never forget that. Tonight if I have time - I am going to watch The Lost Fleet of Guadalcanal. Happy Father’s Day Daddy! I Love You and Miss You! semper fi you old Devil Dog! Sure do miss that dancing hula girl xoxox
