My father, James Tatum, participated in action against the enemy at Bougainville, participated in the initial landing, seizure and occupation of Guam, and participated in the initial landing, seizure, and occupation of Iwo Jima. I am so proud of my father risking his life to keep our country free. He didn't have thin skin or have to go looking for a safe space.
