I watched a movie on Dr. Carson. He is a presidential candidate I am going to watch. I like him. He knows what it's like to live in poverty - and being black as well. Not just a black thing but poverty - and that comes in many colors. He's been there. I've been there. A lot of us have been there. Many are still there. He can understand in ways that recent President's could not. He worked very hard to be where he is today with a mother who would not give up on him. He struggled. He would be a great role model for the young black men in American today. With hard work, determination and support from those you love you can make it.
He has no political experience - no foreign diplomatic skills and has no skill running a city or state etc. which are the things that bother me however, he will have staff to help him with that kind of stuff.
Just somebody to keep an eye on. Trying to learn a bit about each presidential candidate that I can :)
Carson: 'Poor people have pride too' | TheHill: "GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson argued on Sunday that lawmakers did not understand what it is like to live in poverty.
“I’ve experienced every economic level,” Carson told host Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday.”
“Poor people have pride too,” he argued of welfare programs. “They don’t just want to be taken care of.”
Carson cited his impoverished upbringing in Detroit as evidence of the experiences needed to best help the destitute."
